Wouldn't make the slightest difference to me as far as playing LFS is conserned. I use 70* fov so I wouldn't see the animation even if it was implemented.
As for the development of LFS. I would much rather have the devs spending time improving the physics / the damage model / the collision system than something as trivial as a virtual hand wanking a virtual stick.
You do know that people can vote to change the track on the CTRA server?
Best way I've found is to go on the server when it's empty to practise. Works best on Race 2 as it's mostly empty anyway. If you start easy and avoid spinning you'll even get points for just cruising around the track.
I ask you, who call Initial D lame because the main character wins all the time.
Are all movies and books and stories lame because the main character/s wins against the odds?
Besides Takumi was supposed to be this amazingly super duper talented driver. An exceptionally good driver in an old underpowered NA RWD car will most likely beat a bad driver in a new turbo AWD car. Especially on a track that consists of very tight turns with only very short straights and is quite steep down hill.
If you still think Initial D is lame. Are you saying that LFS is lame because I, whilst driving the XRT, can keep up and occasionally even pass some people that drive the FZ5?
If we are talking about cars and such then:
Grip is what you have, or don't have, between the tyre and the road surface.
Gripping is what the tyre does when it has grip.
I haven't the foggiest what a "gripper" is.
I do know who, or what, Jack the Ripper was but I don't think that has anything to do with this.
AARGH! AARGH! Tweaker is calling me names (again)! Now I must cry.
Get a grip Tweaker. You sound just like a 4-year-old who dropped his lolly.
Your reading comprehension seems to be out of alignment too or you haven't read my posts. Here is a quote you might have missed:
There. I'm not against moving the gear indicator. I'm not against having the wheel and arms on the screen. Just that NOW as the game IS you should remove the wheel, or adjust your view, to see the indicator.
You just seem hell bent on getting back at me for something. As you seem to have something personal agains me I suggest you open up your PMs and we can continue this there. No reason to force other forum members to witness your ramblings.
It's not just the first. It will most propably happen on the first lap because the field hasn't streched yet. But it can happen later. So you have to be on your toes for the whole race.
Well then you just have to live with not seeing the gear indicator.
@XCNuse
But in my real car the steering wheel that is in the car has my hands attached to it. Not some one elses... unless I'm drunk and the wife is driving. Then I'm usually in the back seat so it would be realistic to have one wheel that has others hands on it and a seperate one for my own hands. But this is a racing simulator and not a drinking simulator.
@Tweaker
Well most people who drive with wheels have their wheel turning less than the on screen wheel. How is that realistic?
Besides no one is asking for the hands and wheel to be removed from the game. Just that if you want to see the gear indicator you should click the box to not show them.
It has worked on all the servers I've seen it. Granted I haven't particularly tried to find fault in the times. I've usually thought that it is me who drives like crap because I can't always match its predictions.
There is an InSim application that has the "theoretical" lap time as an output. If you are on a server where it's activated the command !spb should give it to you.
Don't know about the "rolling lap" but I quess it might be possible with InSim.
